Mass transit, hemp economy on comptroller Green party candidate’s radar

Green Party candidate Rolf Maurer’s platform contains ideas he said are tried and true. ...

If elected, Maurer said he would like to see the state move toward a “hemp-based infrastructure.” While it currently is not legal to grow hemp here, Maurer said the crop would have many benefits, including as fuel and as a material used to create other products. He said hemp has 25,000 proven applications.
